Riots Continue In The Indian State Of Manipur, The Death Toll Has Reached 54

The situation in the Indian state of Manipur remains tense and more than 50 people have been confirmed dead in the riots so far.

According to Indian media reports, after several days of riots, the local state administration has ordered to shoot the miscreants on sight.

According to reports, more than 10,000 army and paramilitary forces personnel have been deployed to control the situation while curfew is in force in the tense areas.

Train services have been suspended in the state and internet services have also been suspended till Monday, apart from which flights have also been suspended till May 7 and examinations have also been halted.

According to reports, 7 people including Indian security forces personnel were killed in different areas of the state on Friday, after which the total number of deaths has increased to 54, while the women who died in the riots are also included.

Reports indicate that 16 bodies have been kept in the mortuary at the hospital in Churachandpur district of the state and 15 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal.

Reports said that hundreds of people were also injured in the riots, many houses, vehicles, temples and churches were set on fire.

According to the Indian Ministry of Defense, 13,000 people have been evacuated from the conflict zones to military camps and other safe places.
