DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmad Sharif Chaudhry has said that action will be taken against whoever is involved in the Faiz Hameed case, regardless of position or status.
DG ISPR said that 32,173 intelligence-based operations were conducted against terrorists and facilitators in 8 months. Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif said that 90 Khawarij were sent to hell during operations in the last one month, since the government has come to Afghanistan, the facilitation of Fitnah-ul-Khawarij and terrorists has increased.
He said that in 8 months 193 brave officers and soldiers sacrificed their lives and the whole nation pays tribute to them. Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif said that there is no such area in the country where terrorists are active.
DG ISPR said that on the night of August 25 and 26, terrorist activities were carried out in Balochistan, security forces killed 21 terrorists in Balochistan.
He said that we know that there is a sense of deprivation and state oppression in Balochistan, but there are narratives of emotional deprivation, oppression, but the federal government is giving Balochistan 520 billion, the Balochistan government takes 254 billion rupees as royalty and 80% of Balochistan people are in the mineral project, after the facts we have presented to you, you will see the swings in their narratives which create false narratives.
DG ISPR said that the Pakistan Army is neither against any party nor has any political agenda, if someone in the army promotes a specific political agenda for his personal gain, then the system of self-accountability comes into play. And in light of the evidence, those responsible have to be held accountable.
He said that the application against Lieutenant General Retired Faiz Hameed in the Top City case was received through the Ministry of Defence. On August 12, the Army informed that the retired officer had violated the Army Act and even after retirement, the Army Act was violated. A number of incidents of violation came to light, on which court-martial proceedings were initiated.
DG ISPR said that our accountability process is transparent, it works on proofs and evidences and not on allegations, Faiz Hameed case is a proof of how seriously the Pakistan Army takes violations committed for personal and political interests. and acts in accordance with the law without discrimination.
In response to a question, he said that action will be taken against whoever is involved in the Faiz Hameed case, regardless of position or status. He said that everyone will get all the rights including lawyer and witness, cross-examination.
Lt. Gen. Ahmad Sharif said that such indiscriminate self-accountability encourages other institutions that if anyone uses their position for personal or political purposes, they will also be held accountable.
He said that the army has reduced its defense expenditure while the army and its institutions have collected taxes of 360 billion rupees.
