Pakistan's Ex PM Imran Khan Granted Bail for 2 Weeks in Al-Qadir Trust Corruption Case

The Islamabad High Court granted bail to Chairman PTI Imran Khan for two weeks in the Al-Qadir Trust case. Due to the appearance of Imran Khan in the Islamabad High Court, strict security arrangements were made around the court, the back door of the Islamabad High Court was sealed and very strict security arrangements were made at two doors.

Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan left Police Lines Guest House for court appearance and DIG Operations was looking after the security arrangements for his convoy. After reaching the court, Imran Khan went to the diary branch where his biometric was done. On the occasion of Imran Khan’s court appearance, PTI workers gathered around the court and were dispersed by the police.

Constitution of Special Division Bench

A special division bench was constituted to hear the petition against the arrest of Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan.

Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Amir Farooq constituted a bench comprising Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb and Justice Taman Rifat Imtiaz which heard the petition.

Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb’s court was full of lawyers and Imran Khan’s lawyer Khawaja Haris reached court room number three while the prosecution team of NAB has reached court room number three.

Disorder in court

On the appearance of Imran Khan, slogans were raised in favor of Imran Khan in the court room, on which the judges expressed their anger and the judges got up and left the court.

The court expressed indignation at the lawyer’s shouting slogans in the court room and said that it will not work, there is no way, there should be complete silence.

Later, the court adjourned the hearing for Friday prayers, the time was set for hearing the Imran Khan case at half past two.

After the break of Friday prayers in the court, the hearing resumed, Khawaja Haris gave arguments and said that this is a request for Imran Khan’s pre-arrest bail and protective bail, we have asked for a copy of the inquiry report in another request. , we want NAB to be ordered to provide a copy of the inquiry report, the NAB inquiry report was found out from the newspaper.

The court questioned that you were not given any questionnaire along with the notice, did you visit the NAB office?

Advocate General Islamabad Barrister Jahangir Jadoon said in his arguments that there is an alternative forum for the petition filed here, there is no solid reason to bring this matter to the High Court in the writ petition, the army was summoned under Article 245 of the Constitution. The army was called after the kind of violence that happened.

Justice Mian Gul Hasan said that there has been martial law here that we should stop the hearing on all the petitions.

Deputy Prosecutor NAB said in the court that the inquiry started on July 15 after which a call-up notice was issued, Imran Khan never appeared in the inquiry, a business tycoon, Zulfi Bukhari and others were given notices in this case, Mian Muhammad. Soomro, Faisal Wauda and others also received notices who joined the enquiry, Shahzad Akbar also received notices but did not join the enquiry.

Later, after hearing the arguments of the parties, the court granted interim bail to Chairman PTI Imran Khan for two weeks.

10 people met Imran Khan in police lines

On the other hand, the spokesperson of Islamabad Police says that according to the court order, 10 people met Imran Khan last night, including the President, Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan, Dr. Faisal and a 7-member legal team also met Imran Khan.
